Are You Talented?

The parable of the Talents describes two kinds of people :

1. Matthew 25:21
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'

2. Matthew 25:26
"His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?

And ends up with ..

Matthew 25:29
For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.

* How are we with our talents God has given us?

* Are we using our talents to multiply it or are we digging our talents?

Say for example, SALVATION is one of the talent, we can

a. make it shine before men, that they may see our good deeds and praise our Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

b. make it like a mustard seed, when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches."

Matthew 13:31-32
31 He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.
32 Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches."

c. make it like yeast, mixing into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough.

Matthew 13:33
He told them still another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough."

So let us think about all the talents God has given us and let us decide to use it and not dig it. The activity of the month is Each One Teach One. Those who have the talent of teaching (we believe all), let us do our best to bring glory to God.

Also let us continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Philippians 2:12-13
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
